Oh Happy Day!

Have you place your Sale-A-Bration order yet?  Only one week left - and this card showcases one of my favorite stamp sets that you can earn:  Bloomin' Marvelous.  The typewriter style font mixed with the loopy cursive script is so, so cute.

Pals Blog Hop - Spring Projects!

2013marhop_badge

Thank you for joining us for the March Pals Blog Hop! Today the Stampin' Pretty Pals are excited to share new ideas and projects to get you ready for spring.
You should have just left stop number 13 on the Pals Hop - Maggie Mata at Maggie Made Cards. If so, you are in the right spot.  If you get off track, the full blog lineup below will help you move along from blog to blog so you see all of the amazing creations.

I'm so ready for Spring and the beautiful explosion of colorful flowers that it brings.  That desire is what inspired my card.

  • The large dahlia is created with the Blossom Petals Builder Punch.  The center is a designer builder brad that I "antiqued" with a jewelry-crafting product called Guilders Paste.  The center was a circle of Midnight Muse covered with Dazzling Details for an opalescent effect.
  • The medium sized flower is created with the Floral Framelits Die and coordinating Daydream Medallions stamp set.
  • The teeny flower is punched from the Boho Blossoms Punch.
  • The paper, ribbon, and sentiment are all products available exclusively during Sale-A-Bration.

The next stop is Carmen Sublasky at The Creative Stamptuary, stop number 15 on the Pals Blog Hop! Thanks for visiting – and I hope to see you next month!

Fun with Fabric Part II

Creating beautiful projects with fabric is so easy!  Here is a sweet hair clip - made with Tea for Two Designer Fabric and the 5/8" Flower Trim.

  • Cut a 2" x 18" strip of Designer Fabric.  Fold it in half lengthwise and then fold in half lengthwise again, so you have a strip that's 1/2" x 18"
  • Roll it tightly starting at one end, apply glue (I used a hot glue gun) as you go and twisting/folding the fabric strip as you go
  • I then glued the Flower Trim around the edge
  • I used craft bobby pins (purchased at Beadaholique.com).  They have a special round pad for glueing that makes it so easy to attach the flower.
  • I used Fabric glue to attach the flower to the bobby pin

PALS February Blog Hop

2013febhop_badge

Thank you for joining us for the February Pals Blog Hop! Today the Stampin' Pretty Pals are excited to introduce you to the Stampin' Up! products we LOVE. We hope you find new ideas for using the products you already have - or find new items to add to your wishlist.

You should have just left stop number 19 on the Pals Hop - Kerry Willard Bray at stampgoodness. If so, you are in the right spot.  If you get off track, the full blog lineup below will help you move along from blog to blog so you see all of the amazing creations.

I'm sharing my love of fabric with you today (as well as my love of feminine and vintage style)!  Stampin' Up! Designer Fabric is so versatile for so many kinds of projects.  In fact, I'll be featuring project ideas using Designer Fabric all week long on my blog.

I decorated this feminine card with little fabric yo-yos made from the Tea for Two Designer Fabric.  Check out my video for a quick how-to and you'll be delighted at how easy and fast you can create these lovelies.

Products I LOVE:

Tea for Two Designer Fabric (129308): I love the fresh colors and vintage look of this fabric.  It reminds me of a quilt that my great grandmother made that used to grace my girlhood bed.

5/8" Flower Trim:  This trim is so completely feminine and beautiful - the photos don't do it justice.  It nearly made me squeal and I don't do that ;)

Oh Hello Stamp Set (130733): I love the blocky fonts and chevron motifs combined with the romantic rose.  Not your grandmother's stamp set.
Oh, Hello Clear-Mount Stamp Set

Tea Lace Paper Doilies (129399): If you think your project needs something else try a doily.  You'll be glad you did.

Tea Lace Paper Doilies
Pop-Up Posies Designer Kit (131395):   Beautiful frothy flowers, embossed crumb-cake labels and THE cutest sentiment stamp?  Yes, Please!

Orange You Glad

Here's one more project showcasing the Spring trend for the color orange.  This card features the beautiful, beachy orange:  Calypso Coral.

Have you worked with fabric in your paper crafting?  Stampin' Up! fabric comes in a set of 3 coordinating fat quarters and adds dimension and textural interest to your projects.  And, it's gorgeous!
  •  I cut strip of fabric from the Tea for Two collection and then sewed several lines of basting spaced evenly apart (I had about 5 rows of stitching).
  • Then I pulled the threads gently to give it a ruffled appearance like you might see on a smocked garment.
  •  I stitched the taffeta ribbon down on the top for my custom made ribbon!
  • I finished the card with a few strips of coordinating paper and lace tape
  • The stamped images are from the Oh Hello! stamp set - aren't they lovely?

Product Highlights:

Tea for Two Designer Fabric:  Your scissors won’t be able to resist this fabric! Three coordinated extra-wide fat quarters: ea. 18" x 27". 100% cotton. Baja Breeze, Calypso Coral, Early Espresso, Island Indigo, Lucky Limeade, Pretty in Pink, and So Saffron.

Oh Hello Stamp Set:  Bold designs. Striking patterns. The wow factor is so easy to achieve with this amazing seven-piece set. Coordinates with our Ovals Collection Framelits Dies.

Spring Trend: Orange, Continued

Although I love Winter and snow, it happens about this time of year that I start spending more time at our local botanical gardens and gravitate toward brighter and more cheerful colors.  Orange is such a happy color and I'm glad to see it popping up all over the place in clothing, accessories, home decor, you name it.

Here's a cheerful gift bag I made using the First Edition Specialty Designer Series Paper:

  • I sponged the Paper Doily (129399) with Daffodil Delight and Tangerine Tango Ink
  • I used the Tangerine Tango ribbon from the Sale-A-Bration exclusive Sycamore Street Ribbon & Button Pack (130812)
  • The stamped sentiment if from the Sale-A-Bration exclusive stamp set Bloomin' Marvelous (129651)
  • The tag is made from the Hearts a Flutter stamp set and Framelits Bundle (131097)
  • The tiny heart is from the Fashionable Hearts Embosslit Die (125596)
  • And those gorgeous, girly roses are the 5/8" Flower Trim (126869)
